I am in need of information for which LTL carriers have the lowest claims ratios in this lane......I have a new Vendor that is starting next month shipping to me and the freight is cooler frames for convenience stores...........I know, not the prettiest freight so you see why I am looking for the least claims ratio. Anyone out there have suggestions?

Forklifter,

Freightninja is pretty well versed in lots of freight issues on this board and would probably know. The old school thought was the long haul carriers such as Fed X freight would have the lowest claims ratio but these days that might not be the case and I read that they are often difficult to deal with from a customer service standpoint. The less touches the better plus some terminals are better than others, You might look at cargo insurance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_insurance. I've been reading this is the way to go when shipping LTL freight.
